We have two service dogs being raised & trained by a medicine woman on her familial land in the Ozarks. The total cost is $15k, but we can pick them up at $10k. We are at $2,000, ~10% to the goal.
Donate to the ‘service dog” fund today to help!

We are looking for patrons to co-host fundraising dinners at their homes with their contacts.
The evening will include a fireside talk from the founder with time for questions and a fry bread taco dinner with a s’mores dessert.
If you would like to host an event with us, reach out to lusidresidencies@gmail.com.
We are building a kit so these teaching fundraising events can supply what we need for community teaching events and funds to actually make change.
You can contribute to our kits by donating money, buying from our wish list, or reaching out to see if we can use similar supplies you have used and would like to donate.

Did you know we are legally allowed to pull fell wood out of the forest (with a permit)? And that we can sell it? And that it helps lower wild fire risk?
Most of the logging land is mono-culture that choked itself out and is now a huge risk to our communities.
We’re trying to get supplies and some partners together to sell firewood as a way to bring in a more permanent stream of revenue. We literally will do that work of chopping wood to heal, and we are looking for people to donate wood they have processed for sale as well.
We see this work as vital for a functioning system, all of it must be healing.

Tabling for this cause is hard. But cinnamon rolls seem to help.
This list is the supplies we need to make original, sunrise (house flavor orange, raspberry, and blueberry tie dye frosting), s’mores, and cherry almond. We generally see a 3-4x return on the bake sale donations which is far more effective then trying to get people to engage without. We also see that people stay and ask a lot more and increasingly thoughtful questions when there is something else to oscillate with. It becomes an educational event too which supports our goal of changing the community to be safer.
We need tools to help people slow down and stay present. Not only does it serve that purpose, but it also serves as an opportunity to talk to people about the role of food in healing so hopefully they can better support the children around them when it matters most.

We need tabling supplies so we can talk to the community. If you have used items from the list you can reach out to us to see if we can use them instead of buying new.

LUSID Residencies is a new Indigenous & survivor led organization that takes children who experience sexual abuse on extended term healing adventures with service dogs and people who have done the hard work to heal.
The softness is the point. Right now, the system deals with these children by expecting them to obey and comply while they need autonomy and respect. It adds to the problem. We exist to defend the right of the child to stare at trees or the sky or bugs as long as they need while doing the work of daily living until they are ready to try something big, then we make sure they succeed. That is trauma informed care.
We do not believe anything less is acceptable, because we don’t suck. We believe victims and listen to them rather than being delusional enough to expect obedience from scared children.
What the system gives in compounded trauma. If you believe in the right to space to heal, please, lend a hand today.
A letter from the Founder & Chief Make It Happen Officer after the first year:
Hello everyone,
I am truly grateful for the last year and the few people who showed up to try and make something happen. Unfortunately, it really hasn’t been that many people, especially compared to all the noise I have made. We really haven’t been able to make much of anything happen at all. I took more complaints and attacks, being called a pedophile for citing peer reviewed science a weird amount of times, told to leave, told I had no right to talk about such things in public, told I was wrong, and the worst, had people who could help, look me in the eye and sassily say “let’s see what you build” as if they had the heart to help anyway. As if saying that while children suffer doesn't make your soul rotten.
I get it. Really. Having courage and integrity isn’t for everyone, it’s hard. Especially when everyone is too triggered to stay in their bodies and behave like real people. So I feel as if I have done what I can in the community I tried to start working in given where they are. I knew it was the worst place in the state for child sexual abuse and trafficking, so honestly I should have expected that the offending pedos would rally and shut down anyone trying to help by making faux concern comments about outsiders having no clue what is needed. It sucks that the children will continue to suffer here, it breaks my heart, but what does anyone want me to do about it? I tried. A lot. For a year. I learned a million new things. The community is moving slower.
LUSID is going to move on to communities who are ready to start doing the work, so if you would like us to teach about how to make a real difference in the children’s lives in front of you right now, or if you would like me to speak on how to have safer communities, we will come out and talk to your group. We are willing to travel nationwide. We are looking for people strong enough to do the work without being begged. If your tribal community cares about countering the impacts of trafficking that comes with casinos and industry, join us. If you understand you have a responsibility to get ahead of these issues, join us.
I am tired of setting out plans to be ignored and fail. Over and over again.
We hope you will join us in building something that succeeds because the children are waiting.

At LUSID Residencies, we meet our objective by living our three values:
-
Autonomy
Self actualization and self determination is our highest aim
-
Supporting those who need it most
Continued care for those who were heavily groomed as they may struggle with offending if they are not properly supported
-
Changing the comunity
Support for the family so they can properly support the child through the transition

-
Residents will be taken out of pre-prepared remote, off grid campsites .
-
When the fundraising goal is met, land will be purchased for the development of a lodge as a permanent home and expansion of LUSID Residencies.
-
The ways of healing developed here will be documented for reproduction. The concept is fairly simple. In time, we will identify teams of people across the nation who want to use the name and ways to help develop local systems to serve those in their area.

Our hope is to take children on developmental journeys whenever they need extra support, not just in the immediate aftermath. Healing is not linear. That’s why, we want to have adventures that can keep up with the children who come to us. We fully expect someday to not only have children jump out of our helicopters so they can find their way back through the obstacle courses, but we also intend on helping some of them get pilot’s licenses.
When we say we understand the peaks must outmatch the valleys, we mean it. We know that some of these children will have come to use with awful wounds and in order to fully heal, those children will have to become capable of outmatching their abusers, however they get there.
Traumatic energy finds a way. Always. We want to be there, ready with the path of least resistance, beaten with persistence so that no one has to go at it the painful way, or alone.
-
We are a system of survivors ready to share what works with the next generation. We believe those with lived experience should create, preserve, and grow healing systems for future generations because that is trauma informed care.
We know that failure to thrive here can lead to tragic outcomes and so we are committed to doing the work to ensure the cycle breaks here and now. For good.
-
Beyond a shadow of a doubt.
We will always hold space for survivors to become who they are. Fiercely.
-
As a matter of proper trauma informed care, no, we will never be beholden to a religious organization out of respect to the tremendous amount of children that face victimization in that setting.
If a child, requests specific religious support for their healing journey, we are more than happy to find an appropriate support but we will not be the ones to bring it up.
-
By keeping this free, we are not subject to the willingness of an insurance company to grant you or your loved one access to care. We are empowered by community to provide the support that is needed to do the hard work.
This is a proper decolonized practice that best supports community engagement for healing. We understand that most people care and just don’t know what to do.
If you want to help, we know what to do.
